Meet the Cats
(and the human!)
These cats work hard to bring you top-tier, award-winning, totally legal journalism.
-
The Baboo (she, they)
The Baboo (legal name Temperance) is a poet extraordinaire, keen observer of birbs, renown pirate, and fierce huntress of bugs. She loves to scoocharoo around the house and be a sneaky sneaker. The original face of Cat News on Instagram, the Baboo established the phrase "heeho," a catch-all word in the local cat dialect.
-
Sweet Miss Til (she, her)
Sweet Miss Til (Tilda, or Matilda in the most formal of conversations) is our beauty, behavior, and trend expert. She is credited with the "flop, drop, and plop" and "flat splat" maneuvers, as well as the popular intonation, "so swee, so cuu[te], so full of song." She loves to groom herself, languish, and ask for pettles.
-
Big Fat Ted (him, him)
Big Fat Ted (Teddy, Tedderson, Tedward, Theodore) is known for being "so full of beans." Him is a charismatic cowboy who can convince you of anything. Him enjoys establishing him territory, escape tactics, and being forgiven by being so handsome. Him is the son of him proud mother Emily, Hannah's roommate and Cat News accomplice.
-
Hannah LaFleur (she, her)
Hannah (rhymes with piranha, not Montana) is a Taylor Street resident and the founder, illustrator, and editor in chief of Cat News. Besides her role as cat-observer and transcriber, she is also an educator, musician, and artist. Her music is streaming on Spotify (as Rookie Traiteuse), and her artwork can be viewed at Jam on Hawthorne. She is thankful to live in a neighborhood that is so enthusiastic about cat journalism, and yes, she wants to see pictures of your cat.
